I know I write about it all the time, but it's my favorite topic, really -- where do you want to go? The world is so big and there are so many fascinating places to see and people to meet.
I have friends who want to sail an Eastern Mediterranean cruise and spend some time in Istanbul. I want to do this, too. I'm not sure if my travel budget can support it next year, but it's worth exploring all the options. The thing is, if we do it, I want to do it right and have a balcony stateroom on whatever ship we choose. Our favorite right now is a Nautica sailing (Oceania), but a balcony looks out of reach so I'm looking at a Celebrity and a Holland America cruise, too. We'll see!
One client-couple wanted to spend a week in Aruba for their anniversary, but ended up being too busy with family visits and parties -- so they are going to Las Vegas for a few days instead! That's OK -- I book lots of Vegas packages, too. Aruba will still be there next year, I'm sure.
And that's a funny thing when we talk about doing this or that or going here or there -- our choices aren't really "either/or" because we can do one now and the other some other time! If I can't make it to Istanbul next year, it doesn't mean I'll never get there -- I may just have to put it off to a future time and go somewhere more affordable next year.
Another cruise I'm thinking of is the Carnival Victory "Seven Islands in Seven Days" cruise out of San Juan. We can have a balcony and still get the cruise for less than $1800 total for 2 -- very tempting!
Let me know -- where do YOU want to go?
