I'm so excited about the opportunity to take Norwegian's 7-night island cruise!  Steve and I have been to Hawaii 4 times, but we always said if we got a chance to go back we would like to take the Pride of America cruise.

It just sounds SO much better and easier and cheaper than island-hopping.  I mean, to see 4 islands in 8 days would involve a lot of bag-schlepping and sitting around airports -- no thanks!  Only one or two islands is really practical to cover in a week -- so the cruise should be just perfect.

Plus, with the meals included in the cruise price, we won't be nickle-and-dimed to death with extra expenses.  Oh sure, we'll have wine with dinner and the occasional soda or bottle of water -- but we'll still save a ton of money.

I have a couple of car rentals set, and I think I'm going to sign up for a tour in Hilo, but I'm still undecided about Maui.  We've seen everything -- what I most would like to do is go snorkeling, so we might just go to one of those equipment rental places and swim and snorkel from one or two of the beaches.  I guess that's part of the romance of travel -- leaving a bit of room for adventure and serendipity!

I hope to come back with lots of information about how people can really get the most out of this cruise -- what excursions are best, when it's better to rent a car, how to get around, and so on.  I want to get a feel for the logistics of where the ship docks in each port, where are the car rental places, where are there shuttles and where you have to take taxis, and such.

And photographs!!!!  Well, when I report back I should have some pix to share -- have a fabulous weekend!
