Saturday's the day -- heading out for the Western half of my epic Route 66 tour! My parents and I will begin in Oklahoma City, ending our first day in Amarillo. Since we've been all over the Mother Road in Oklahoma, the drive should go pretty fast; but we'll stop for lunch at our old Taco Mayo in Weatherford, the quartz rock formation just outside of town (I need some pretty rock for my herb garden), the Indian Store in Clinton, maybe one of the museums in either Clinton or Elk City, and the newly restored U Drop Inn in Shamrock, Texas.
Of course I'll be looking for good photo-ops every mile of the way!
