Great Ways to Get Away From the Heat
Goodness gracious! I just heard on the radio that it will "only" get up to 99 degrees today! I wish I were going to the Bahamas this week. The last week of August can't get here soon enough -- then I can get out in that fabulous turquoise water, swim with the pretty fishes, feel those delicious ocean breezes, and loll about on fluffy white sand beaches! Sure, it will probably be in the low 90s, but that's going to feel a whole better than the 100s!
If I hadn't already been to Alaska twice, I'd be cruising up there for sure. But, I'll settle for the newly revamped Norwegian Sky and a few days in the Bahamas. Steve and I are also driving to Key West for a couple of days to round out the week, since we haven't been there before.
And seafood! The ship better have plenty of lobster and shrimp, and if they throw in some scallops and crab legs I'll be in heaven! I want to see a couple of shows, dance in the disco, and sit by the pool with a glass of wine, too. In Freeport, I figure we'll just walk around and maybe shop a little, but in Nassau we are snorkeling and I have already booked our Shore Trips excursion; and at NCL's private Island, Great Stirrup Cay, it will be the perfect "day at the beach!"
As Southwest Airlines would ask: "Wanna get away?" If you do -- then call me up, because I've got great deals to everywhere that's cooler than here -- Alaska, Hawaii, Canada-New England, and even the Caribbean (or Bahamas). I'd be too embarrassed to tell you how inexpensive my little trip was (actually, I can get you the same prices I get if you want to go). Oh, and I'll help you find decent air, too.
Say, does anyone know a packing expert? I need to find one so I can help people pack smartly and avoid those stupid "extra bag" fees at the airport. I've got it down to where I can go just about anywhere with one checked bag and a carry-on, but every little bit helps. Nobody wants to schlep around a bunch of heavy bags anyway. I had heard of a network marketing company once that sold travel clothes, but now I can't find them. Help?
