Fall Beauty in Kansas City and Seattle

November 3rd 2008

Steve and I went to Kansas for the Chiefs game and to see my sister, and what a gorgeous weekend it was!  I thought it would be too late for pretty Fall color, but the trees were still resplendant in various reds and oranges and yellows.  Kansas City is very pretty in the Fall  -- it's just too bad the city will soon have below-freezing temperatures, and there will be freezing rain and snow!   That's why we're in Dallas and not there.

Seattle is also very pretty!  It's past its peak for Fall color, but still very lovely -- and so pleasant to feel cool and actually have to put on a jacket!  Had too much cloud cover coming in, plus a bit of rain, so no mountain views -- but hopefully tomorrow will be clear and we'll be able to see Mt. Ranier.

I chatted with a couple of men on the plane who were coming here to go fishing for King Salmon.  I had no idea you could go salmon fishing this time of year!  Not sure what I'll do tomorrow while Steve is working, but I'm hoping it works out that we can go downtown and stroll around the Pike Place Market area and the waterfront.

Hope everybody has a great week -- I'll be back Thursday if you need anything, or call Brandon or Larry -- Janet
