When I was checking up on the Shore Trips favorite excursions, it occurred to me how many of them include wildlife encounters. I think we crave interaction with nature because it is so rare in our lives -- and so thrilling and exotic when it happens!
I know some of the coolest things I've ever done involved animal-watching: whale-spotting in Hawaii, Alaska, and Mexico; bear-watching in Ketchikan, Alaska; swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman; snorkeling in Belize and the Bahamas; touching and kissing a dolphin in Cozumel; and coming upon deer, marmots, mountain goats, bears, buffalo, and moose in various national parks -- it's a thrill every time and I always hope it happens again.
I'm always excited to help people take these adventures and feel that rush -- Wow - I photographed a wild bear! OMG a whale came right up to our boat! Stingrays brushed past my legs and they felt so soft and then they let me feed them! A whole school of fish was swimming around me!
An opportunity to interact with other creatures of the Earth has to be one of the best reasons of all for travelling, and I can't think of a better way to access that opportunity than cruising.
