Cruise Europe in 2009
What’s HOT for cruising in 2009? Clients are saying they want to go to Europe – in fact, the main reason we’re having a Europe Night open house (here at the office, January 13th from 4:00 to 7:00) is because so many want to learn more about the new ships, new itineraries and options for river cruising. A cruise is a safe, fun, and affordable way to see more and get more for your dollar -- without language barriers, and with minimal need for currency conversion:
· British Isles – these are wonderful cruises because you can visit England, Ireland, Scotland, (and sometimes Wales) in one elegant trip without constantly packing and unpacking. While most cruise lines sail from Southampton or Dover, Silversea has one that sails directly from London! With the availability of non-stop flights to London, and generally lower fares than to other European cities, these cruises will sell out all summer long. Besides Silversea, we can show you magnificent cruise itineraries from Princess, Cunard, and Royal Caribbean.
· Holy Lands – a cruise is an excellent way to visit Egypt, Israel, Turkey, and historic islands in the Eastern Mediterranean. Let’s face it, you wouldn’t just fly into Alexandria and pick up a car and drive around! Princess, Holland America, and Celebrity all have beautiful cruise selections in this area.
· 7-night Family Cruises – these sail round-trip from Barcelona and give a lovely overview of ports in Spain, France, and Italy. You can take the kids and the grandparents and everyone can enjoy the experiences they most desire – be it museums and cathedrals, shopping and people-watching, or historic tours and landmarks. No driving, hassling with expensive taxis, or wasting time figuring out where to eat! Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean offer the best choices here.
· Unusual Destinations – for the cruiser who’s been everywhere! You can experience exotic places like Iceland, Spitsbergen, the Canary Islands, and the Black Sea. Princess, Cunard, Holland America, and the luxury lines all have unusual itineraries that really get you off the beaten path.
· River Cruises – a great choice when you want to visit countries in the interior parts of Europe, but don’t want the hassle of driving yourself or the packing/unpacking routine of a motorcoach tour. Uniworld and Avalon are our preferred lines with cruises of all lengths up and down the Rhine, Danube, and other European waterways.
So, as you can see, there are many opportunities to customize a European cruise for yourself – whether you seek the novelty of the unusual, or the security of the tried-and-true.
You are invited to our Open House! Please stop by after work on Tuesday, January 13th between 4:00 and 7:00 to talk with the cruise line reps, and pick up a free brochure or two. We’ll have wine and cheese, registry for prizes, and give-aways and calendars for everyone. Check out all the special offers -- reduced deposits, discounts, upgrades, onboard coupon books, group and block-space rates, shipboard credits, select hosted sailings with free shore excursions, and agent gifts.
