Alaska Night had a great turnout!
We had a lot of fun Tuesday evening when so many of our friends came over -- we talked about Alaksa, shared some wine and travel stories, and almost turned it into "river cruise" night!
One of our friends just got back from a Rhine River cruise and had the most fantastic time, so now a lot of us are thinking about doing it, too. There are so many great choices, though, that we'll have to study the catalogues and figure out which one we want to take first!
I have a great deal of sympathy for one young lady who suffers terribly from motion sickness, and just isn't sure if a cruise will be OK for her. The good news is that Alaska makes for the perfect first-time cruise because the water is so calm that you hardly even feel like you're on a ship! I hope she and her husband will give it a try, because a cruise is just the best way to experience the beauty of the glaciers, and you get to go to so many wonderful ports-of-call.
I'm recommending an Inside Passage cruise round-trip from Seattle, because it's easy to do, the airfare is cheaper, and you get to spend a magical evening at Butchart Gardens in Victoria!
We're going to have a great show next Saturday, too -- talkiing about everything from the fantastic new Oasis of the Seas to "how to pack light" and avoid those ridiculous airline luggage fees! I have a river cruise specialist coming, too -- because I think it's one of the most economical (and romantic) ways to get the most for your money in Europe right now. Info is on the front page -- if you're in our area, please stop by!
